Synonymous with bass fishing excellence, the newly revamped Shimano Zodias B series raises the bar with a refined blank and updated cosmetics, while continuing to showcase the cutting-edge technologies that define its celebrated legacy. At the core is Hi-Power X, a carbon-wrapped blank construction that increases rigidity and twist resistance for sharper hooksets, longer casts, and better control under load. The Carbon Monocoque Grip, crafted from hollow carbon material, enhances vibration transmission for heightened sensitivity, allowing anglers to feel structure, lure movement, and subtle bites with precision. Paired with the CI4+ reel seat, made from Shimano’s lightweight, high-strength carbon-infused polymer, Zodias delivers a seamless connection between angler and lure. The Zodias lineup offers even more technique-specific versatility including BFS, strolling, power, and swimbait specific models.

Features

• Hi-Power X construction uses diagonally-wrapped carbon tape to form an array of "X" shapes on the rod blank's outermost layer. The width of the tape, its winding angle and the part of the rod being wrapped are fine-tuned according to the target fish species. This manufacturing process allows Shimano to adjust these wraps during construction for precise actions, enhanced overall strength and added twist resistance. In short, Hi-Power X construction delivers sharp and crisp rod control for the angler.
• Taftec Infinity realizes 3 times the winding strength and 5 times the winding amount of our conventional solid tips. It is a high intensity solid tip that surpasses the strength and sensitivity of Taftec α.
• CI4 is a Shimano original material reinforced with carbon fiber that is lighter and has a higher strength than conventional resin material. CI4+ is an advanced version of the original CI4 material and is 2.5x more rigid than its predecessor. The use of CI4+ for the reel seat increases sensitivity and reduces weight while also delivering remarkable rigidity for perfect reel fixation and better rod efficiency.
